Terms of service

Last updated 8 October 2026

These terms apply when you download, buy or use LocalGuard and when you use localguard.me. The seller is ТОВ «РАВІРА ЛТД» (LLC “RAWIRA LTD”, trading as Rawira LTD, “we”), a company registered in Ukraine: EDRPOU 42676523, Ukrainian VAT payer no. 426765209150, 1b Kraikivskoho St, Ivano-Frankivsk 76019, Ukraine (вул. Крайківського, 1б, м. Івано-Франківськ, 76019). Contact: support@localguard.me.

  • The download is free. The subscription turns protection on: a first month, then a yearly plan that renews until you cancel.
  • We do not refund payments. The first month is your time to try LocalGuard and decide, and you can cancel before the yearly charge.
  • Where the law gives you a right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU and EEA, 14 days), we respect it. At checkout you ask us to start at once and acknowledge that this right ends when your licence is issued.
  • LocalGuard lowers the chance that secrets leave your computer. It cannot promise to catch everything.

1. What you buy

LocalGuard is software that runs on your computer. The download is free. Without a subscription it runs in detect-only mode: it shows which secrets your AI tools sent, which tool sent them, to which provider and when, and it redacts nothing. A subscription gives you a licence that turns protection on. One licence covers one computer at a time; activating it on a new computer moves the subscription there.

The subscription does not include a connection to AI tools that cannot send model requests to a local address (the audited tool families without automatic connection are listed on the home page), scanning in the cloud, or installs for teams, self-hosted setups and the command-line version. Write to us for those.

2. Price, billing and renewal

3. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time. Open LocalGuard → Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription, or email support@localguard.me from the address you bought with; we cancel it for you and confirm by email. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Protection stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, then LocalGuard goes back to detect-only mode.

4. Refunds

We do not refund payments. That is why the first month is a low-cost trial: it is your time to try LocalGuard and decide whether to continue, and cancelling before the yearly charge costs nothing more.

This does not affect your right of withdrawal (section 5) or any refund or remedy the law gives you, for example if LocalGuard does not work as described (section 8).

5. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, or anywhere else local law gives you the same right, you may withdraw from this contract within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason.

Starting at once. LocalGuard is digital content that we supply as soon as you pay: your licence is issued and the activation code is sent within minutes. At checkout you tick a box in which you accept these terms, ask us to start immediately and acknowledge that, once your licence has been issued, you lose your right of withdrawal (Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). From that moment the right no longer applies. We confirm this in the email with your activation code. If you did not give that confirmation, you keep the right for the full 14 days.

How to withdraw, if you still have the right: before the 14 days end, send a clear statement to support@localguard.me. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. We then refund every payment within 14 days of receiving your statement, to the payment method you used.

Withdrawing is not the same as cancelling. Cancelling stops future renewals and does not earn a refund (section 4).

6. Using LocalGuard

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use LocalGuard on one computer at a time while your subscription is active. Do not get round the licence check, share or resell activation codes, or use LocalGuard to break the law. Open-source components keep their own licences.

7. What LocalGuard does and does not do

LocalGuard looks for known kinds of secrets and personal data in the requests your AI tools send and replaces them before the request leaves your computer. No detector is perfect. It can miss data or replace harmless text, and it only sees traffic that your tools send through it. LocalGuard lowers the risk of a leak; it does not guarantee that nothing leaks. You stay responsible for what you send to AI providers and for your own legal obligations. Scanning runs on your computer; your prompts, code and AI responses do not reach us (see the privacy policy).

8. Your legal rights and our liability

9. Your data

What we collect, why and for how long is in the privacy policy.

10. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, the date at the top changes with it. Changes apply to purchases and renewals after that date. If a change matters for an active subscription, we email you before it takes effect, and you can cancel first.

11. Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by Ukrainian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live and may bring a claim in the courts there. Please write to support@localguard.me first so that we can try to settle it. You can also contact the consumer protection authority in your country.
